Steps To Write Authorization Letters

The followings are steps to write an authorization letter :

  1. Write your name, address, phone on the first, second and third line consecutively.
  2. Give one empty line, then write the recipient’s name, address, phone on the fifth, sixth and seventh line.
  3. Write your salutation : “Dear Sir:”  “Dear Mr. ….:”
  4. Write the following sentence : “I am writing to authorize Mr. ………, address ….., phone …. to act on my behalf to  (obtain …., withdraw  money from my account # 1234, pick up, conduct business transaction, purchase …., to bid at your auction, etc). There are a lot of possibilities.
  5. It is necessary to write how long this authorization letter will be valid. For example, We can say :  This authorization letter is valid from May 12, 2014 up to May 18, 2014. It is advisable that you can anticipate for how long this authorization letter will be needed.
  6. Finally, you write your complimentary closing such as : Sincerely, Yours faithfully, etc. Then put your signature and your name below the signature.  See the following authorization letter based the six steps mentioned above.
